Seeing Hollywood
Hollywood is fun to explore on foot but, by car, but the best way to see Hollywood and all of its sights is by taking a narrated bus tour of the city, especially if it is your first visit. Most of the tours also venture into nearby neighborhoods, particularly Beverly Hills, the area where many stars have their homes. Though the buses are not allowed to come to a complete stop in front of the houses, you'll still get a good look at them.
There are many other possibilities to feel excited. For example, you might visit the former site of the Montmarte Cafe, where Joan Crawford was discovered, or the Knickerbocker Hotel, where Elvis lived for a while. There is Capitol Records - the world's first round office building, the Warner Pacific Theater - where Carol Burnett was an usherette in the 1950s, and NBC Radio City, from where Jack Benny and Bob Hope broadcasted their popular radio shows.
