Travel

Travel

For most people travelling is a great hobby, maybe for you too. This is the reason why I chose this topic for my articles. People are travelling all the time - for relax, pleasure or for business. Some of us like to travel short distances and others like remote places ???. However, we all share one point. This point is hidden in question which each of us has to answer before they start their travel. This question is: ´How do I get there?´.
We can travel by land, by air or by sea. Travelling by land includes going on foot, riding a bike or a motorcycle, going by bus or by car, travelling by coach. Each of these possibilities is the best choice for a different aim of travelling. Every alternative has various advantages and disadvantages.
Going on foot (or just walking for short) is the cheapest way of travelling. If you choose this alternative, you will probably save money and improve your physical condition. However, walking is suitable only for short distances. If you want to travel far away, you should choose another means of travelling - bus, car or train. Buses are faster than walking and they are quite comfortable. They also offer beautiful view. Lots of tourists like coaches. They like services provided by them, for example they offer some drinks, listening to music or watching a video.
The most common way of travelling is going by car. These days almost all the people (adults) have cars, because they give them freedom – they can go wherever and whenever they want. During your journey by car you go by modern petrol stations, motorests and motels, which offer you lots of services if you feel tired or if you are hungry (or if your car is hungryJ).
Travelling by train used to be popular in the past, but nowadays it is developing fast again. Trains introduce connection of speed, comfort and good services. You can walk in the train if you want or you can visit restauration situated in the train too. If you travel at night, you can sleep in a sleeper. Train is a good choice for long distances because of its speed and not high payments.
Have you ever travelled by boat? As far as I can remember, I have not, but in some countries this way of travelling is quite popular, especially in countries which have strong rivers or are situated near a sea or ocean. It offers lots of experience and nice view, but it is not very fast. People travelling short distances like to take a ferry.
Definitely the fastest way of travelling is going by plane. It is the best choice for long distances. You save your time, but it is the most expensive alternative, too. If you want to fly, you need to book a seat. People usually book their seats long before they want to fly, because booking is cheaper this way. At the airport you always have to go through passport and security controls - they check you and your luggage because they want to make sure that you are not a terrorist or a dangerous passenger.
Lots of people have to travel every day, because they have to commute to work or school. Frequent traffic jams, delayed and overcrowded buses or trams can make people hate travelling. However, I think there is a difference between everyday commuting to work and travelling on holidays.
