Post mortem. Opowiesc katynska(Katyň)

The most famous Polish director Andrzej Wajda finaly earned resources for making his dreamt-of movie about the greatest tragedy and darkest part in history of Poland.Story talks about ma
ssacre that Soviet Union, initially, had never planned to brought to light of this world.
Wajda adapted the story of Katyn according to book "Post Mortem" written by Adrzej Mularczyk and movie earned nomition nomination to The best foreign language film category of the 80th Annual Academy Awards .Everything happened in the spring of 1940,when Polish elite of army and also of society was running away from expanding Germany to the east.Unfortunately Soviet army waited on then and 22 500 Poles fells to thier hand and were massacred in Katyn forest.

Movie retain fates of women who lost their husbands, fathers or sons in this carnage and devastating effect they just simply have to carry. Some of them also fell to Soviet hands, some had just sit at their homes prepared to worst case scenario and some weren't able to carry that huge burden and started looking for any information of their loved men.

Wajda himself know this feeling pretty good, since his father was one of these men that let their names carved forever in that disaster.Since communism in Poland didn't allowed him to make such a movie,Wajda had to wait until 1989,when era of communism in his homeland cames to its end.

Unfortunately,Wajdas feeling of loosing his father, transfered to the movie itself.Probably because he wanted to show uninterested spectators, how deep was despair that these people have to go through.Whole movie is composed of short stories of these women and from some point, you may feel some kind of bored due to long dialogues but the ends of these stories are definetely shivery.

In the end,Katyn is really emotionaly strong reason for Poles, but for the rest it's no globetrotter.
